Hairdressers... they have this way with... hair. You know how they always slick some serum stuff into your hair after blow-drying and styling your hair? It makes your hair smell so good and look so silky. I hate it, but only because it doesn't look like that the next day.
I went shopping for a type of wax or styling product I could achieve that same effect with. You don't really get anything similar to salon-quality unless you buy stuff from the salon, which is ridiculously expensive.
So I tried something else... I found this product:
Loréal Studio Silk & Gloss Hot Straight Cream. It isn't intended for after-styling but in a moment of hopefulness I decided to put some in my dry, straightened hair anyway and guess what?! It made my hair smooth, silky and smell great!
I used about a 10 mm blob on my long, quite thickish hair and stroked it into the ends of my hair and near the roots using only the remainder on my hands. It felt sticky in my hair and on my hands as I was applying it but within a few minutes it is as if it dried and softened my hair. It doesn't even make my hair oily. It tames frizz as well. Also, it didn't make my hair flat like smoothing serums usually do... in fact, it gave my hair a bit of an oomph.
I love this stuff. Even though it is intended for pre-flat ironing it works surprisingly well after styling! It costs around R70 and you will come a long way with it because you use so little each time.
If you were tempted to try it out and you liked it please let me know what your thoughts are in the comments!

I am definitely tempted to try it :) Will let you know...
